BIG EAST ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO 2009 BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
Championship game to be held Sunday; semifinal round to be played Saturday

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The BIG EAST Conference announces the following changes to the schedule of the 2009 BIG EAST Baseball Championship.

The semifinal round will be played in its entirety Saturday, May 23, at Bright House Field. Top-seeded Louisville will meet No. 4 seed Notre Dame at 9 a.m. No. 6-seeded Connecticut will take on the winner of Friday’s game between No. 2 USF and No. 3 West Virginia at 1 p.m., with that game airing live on ESPNU.

Should either Notre Dame or the USF/West Virginia winner win their respective semifinal games, additional games would be played at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Both Louisville and Connecticut are unbeaten in the double-elimination bracket.

The championship game of the tournament will be played Sunday, May 23 at Bright House Field. The time of that game will be determined Saturday.
