Kenny Fellows bats .571, 1 R, 2 RBI, OF assists, and gets no love! It must be that damn 0/4 in stolen base attempts. Dang it.

Just so everyone knows, CollegeBaseball360 volunteered our service to publicize this event. We have made purchases (out of our own pocket) for the TextCaster and StatCrew services.
ReplyDeleteCompiling the all-tournament team was quite a challenge, as we tried to keep in touch with coaches and SIDs from all 18 teams (we also did not go solely by the stats, but encouraged the nominations - and our own analysis - to also consider other intangibles).
As mentioned in the all-tournament posting, most of the the coaches and SIDs provided nominations for players from their own teams and other teams. For the final spot or two, we might have made sure to have at least one player from each team (as opposed to having one or two of 18 teams totally left off). We also tried to have some balance/cap for teams, as several of the squads (including Michigan, with players like Fellows) had upwards of six or seven deserving players.
One player that CB360 felt needed to be recognized was Michigan's game #4 starter Katzman, for shutting down a St. John's offense that had been off the charts in the first two games (granted, against lesser competition). An early explosion from SJU vs. Michigan could have dramatically altered that game ... but Katzman helped make sure that never happened, and UM completed a 4-0 week.
Hope this rambling makes sense/helps clarify it. There always are going to be people left out, but we prefer to take that risk rather than the alternative (opting to not honor a group of players at all).
