Experienced Group Gathering In Jacksonville

An experienced group of head coaches will lead their teams at the Kennel Club Classic this weekend in Jacksonville, FL. Ohio State, UConn, George Mason, and host North Florida will participate in the event. The four teams' coaches have a combined 90 years of experience and 3,037 wins between them. Here's a look:

  • Dusty Rhodes-North Florida- 30th year-1,161 wins
  • Bill Brown-George Mason- 28th year- 757 wins
  • Bob Todd-Ohio State- 26th year- 958 wins
  • Jim Penders-UConn- 6th year- 161 wins
Rhodes became head coach at UNF roughly around the time Penders was starting taking the training wheels off his bike.

Rhodes and Todd were enshrined together this January in the American Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. The Buckeyes are looking for their first 4-0 start since 1991, when Todd and OSU went on to win 52 games.

All of the Kennel Club Classic games will be played at Harmon Stadium on the UNF campus.
