(Brentwood, TN) For the second straight season Jacksonville State University is the preseason favorite to win the Ohio Valley Conference baseball regular season championship. The Gamecocks received five out of nine first-place votes and a total of 61 points from league coaches. Eastern Illinois received the other four first-place votes and 60 total points.
Eastern Illinois' Brett Nommensen in the preseason Player of the Year. Jacksonville State's Ben Tootle is the preseason Pitcher of the Year.
