(Clearwater, FL) When I woke-up this morning the sun was shining, and it's still shining. In fact, the local forecast says it's supposed to shine all day. That's good news, because it was overcast almost all day yesterday in the Tampa Bay area, and we had an afternoon downpour that lasted a good 45 minutes or so.
Nine games are on tap in this area today with the inaugural Big East/Big Ten Challenge. Meanwhile, with the college baseball season starting across the nation today. Louisville at Florida is the only game in the nation that involves two ranked teams. That's saying something, considering how many national polls there are. (It's also somewhat ironic that Louisville is one of four Big East teams that will not be participating in the Challenge this weekend.)
In any case, let the record show that UConn vs. Michigan State will likely be the first college baseball game played in 2009. (If you know of a game that starts before 10am Eastern Time let us know.)
My CB360 partner, Pete, and I will be blogging throughout the weekend.
Play ball!
