New Mexico Sets NCAA Triples Record

The University of New Mexico set a new NCAA record for triples in a single inning in the second game of a February 21 doubleheader. The Lobos hit six triples in the bottom of the third inning in a 22-1 win over Texas A & M Corpus Christi. Mike Brownstein tripled twice in the inning, while Dane Hamilton, Brian Cavazos-Galvez, Kevin Atchison, and Ryan Honeycutt hit one each. UNM broke the previous record of four triples in an inning set by Wichita State in 1983.
